Fort Lauderdale, FL (March 13, 2021) – Around 4 a.m. on Friday, March 12, a house fire took place in a home in Fort Lauderdale.
According to police and fire crews, the fire broke out in a home at 1500 Southwest 31st Avenue. A family of four was inside the home at the time of the fire. The family woke up in the early morning hours with their home full of smoke and their smoke detectors going off.
Fire crews quickly arrived at the scene and broke through the shutters so that they could get inside the home. All of the family members were able to make it out. The homeowner’s 16-year-old daughter received smoke inhalation injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Due to the severity of the fire, it took some time for crews to fully put out the fire. The home was extensively damaged.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
