Miami, FL (September 10, 2021) – Around 2:50 a.m. on Friday morning, September 10, a fatal bicycle accident occurred at an intersection in Miami.
According to Miami Police, the accident happened at the intersection of Northwest First Avenue and 20th Street. A bicyclist was traveling in the area when they were struck by a vehicle that was traveling through the intersection. The driver immediately fled the scene without checking on the cyclist.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The bicyclist, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene due to their injuries.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the cyclist was later found in the area of the Northwest Sixth Avenue and 45th Street intersection. Police took the driver into custody.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for a period of time.
