Miami, FL – Update: Teen Struck in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Coral Reef Dr

Miami, FL (October 30, 2021) – On Friday morning, October 29, a teen was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident on a roadway in Miami.

 

According to police, the accident happened on Coral Reef Drive around the area of 127th Avenue. Police confirmed that 23-year-old Maria Rodriguez was driving in the area when she struck a 17-year-old boy who was jogging near the intersection. She did not stop to render aid to the victim but kept driving.

 

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The male jogger was pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries caused by the accident.

 

Rodriguez has since been arrested for fleeing the scene, though her official charges have not yet been announced. She could be facing more severe charges.
