Oakland Park, FL (November 8, 2021) – Around 10 a.m. on Sunday morning, November 8, a train accident occurred on the tracks near an intersection in Oakland Park.
According to Broward County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Prospect Road and Northwest 9th Street on the train tracks. A vehicle was crossing the tracks at the same time that a train was approaching. The train passed before the car was able to cross the tracks. Debris was left scattered across the tracks due to the crash.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the passenger vehicle, who has not yet been identified, was injured and taken to the hospital. Their condition is not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time.
