Okeechobee, FL (September 20, 2021) – At 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 19, a serious car crash took place on a highway in Okeechobee.
According to police, the accident happened on Florida’s Turnpike around the area of I-75. Multiple vehicles were traveling in the southbound lanes of the highway when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not fully known. Tow trucks were called to the scene to remove all damaged vehicles.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One person was seriously injured as a result of the accident. The unidentified victim was rushed to the hospital by medical helicopter.
Due to the severity of the accident, all lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
