Pinecrest, FL (January 1, 2022) – Florida Highway Patrol was called to a fatal two-vehicle accident on a roadway in Pinecrest that took the life of one victim.
Local officials said that the crash happened before 8 a.m. on Saturday morning, January 1. At the time, a black Infinity sedan was traveling north in the wrong lane when it suddenly struck a Hyundai SUV traveling in the opposite direction. The two vehicles forcefully collided head-on with each other.
Numerous officials, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. The drivers, who have only been identified as adult males, were both hospitalized with serious injuries. The driver of the Hyundai was pronounced dead at Jackson South Hospital.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
