Broward Co, FL (August 3, 2021) – At 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening, August 3, a multi-vehicle crash took place on a highway in the Fort Lauderdale area.
According to Broward County officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of the Sawgrass Expressway around mile marker 16. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided due to reasons that are not fully known. The vehicles involved in the crash were extensively damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims were hospitalized with injuries, though their identities and conditions are not yet known. EMS transported them to Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale.
Due to the severity of the crash, two left lanes of traffic were blocked for some time. This led to delays in the area.
