Fort Lauderdale, FL (July 11, 2021) – At 12:45 p.m. on the afternoon of Saturday, July 10, a car accident happened on a highway in Fort Lauderdale.
According to Broward County officials, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of I-595 around the area of the Fort Lauderdale Airport. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the crash were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were called to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the crash, a large portion of the roadway was blocked for some time as police cleared the scene.
