Hollywood, FL – Man Killed in Fatal Train Crash at 21st Ave & Harris St

Hollywood, FL (January 29, 2022) – A man was killed in a fatal train crash that took place at an intersection in Hollywood on Thursday, January 27. 

 

Hollywood Police confirmed that the accident happened around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of 21st Avenue and Harris Street. An unidentified adult male was attempting to cross the intersection over the tracks when he was suddenly struck by a Brightline train that was traveling in the area. The train came to a stop following the incident. 

 

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian was decapitated and was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody on the train was injured due to the collision. 

 

Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked at the intersection for a period of time. The area was blocked until police were able to clear the scene.

 

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
