Miami, FL (August 21, 2021) – Around 7 a.m. on Saturday morning, August 21, a fatal car accident occurred on a major roadway in Miami that involved a restaurant.
According to officials, the accident happened when two vehicles collided on FL-959 around the area of Duffy’s Tavern. A Corvette was driving in the area when it ran into a van, causing the van to flip over onto its side in the area. The Corvette then lost control and slammed into the side of the Duffy’s Tavern building, nearly striking the owner. The vehicle then burst into flames.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the Corvette, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the van was not injured but remained at the scene.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
