Miramar, FL (July 22, 2021) – At 12:50 p.m. on the afternoon of Monday, July 19, a man was killed in a fatal car crash in Miramar.
According to Miramar Police, the accident happened at the intersection of the Miramar Parkway and Southwest 178th Avenue. The crash happened around the area of the Silver Lakes neighborhood. An Infiniti was traveling in the area when it allegedly collided with a second vehicle and then slammed into several palm trees on the side of the road.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were called to the scene. The driver, who has since been identified as 27-year-old Andrew Michael Durick, was pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries.
Police confirmed that the other vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene. Police are now searching for the driver of the vehicle, who was allegedly in a green Dodge Challenger. It is believed that the vehicle has damage to the front passenger’s side.
The roadway was blocked in the area for some time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
