Tamarac, FL (June 14, 2021) – At 1:52 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, June 12, a firefighter was injured in an apartment fire in Tamarac.
According to officials, the incident took place at 8931 Northwest 78th Place when an apartment became engulfed in flames. When fire crews arrived at the scene, fire officials found flames coming out of both the first and second floors. It took fire crews until approximately 2:30 p.m. to get the fire under control.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. A firefighter was injured in the fire and was transported to the Cleveland Clinic for treatment of his injuries. It is believed that the injuries were heat-related.
The area was blocked for some time while police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues at this time.
