Coral Springs, FL (July 27, 2021) – On Sunday, July 25, a child was injured in a serious bicycle accident in Coral Springs.
According to police, the accident happened at 8400 Northwest 40th Street on Sunday around 8:40 p.m. A 10-year-old child was bicycling in the area when he was suddenly struck by a silver Toyota Tacoma. The driver who struck the child drove off without stopping.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help the boy with injuries. He sustained serious injuries to his head, face, and lower body. The child is expected to recover from his injuries.
The driver who struck the child did not return to the scene but has since been in contact with the police. It is not known if the party has received charges.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
