Dania Beach, FL (July 18, 2021) – Around 2:50 a.m. on Saturday morning, July 17, a serious car accident on a highway led to injuries in a deputy.
According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened on the South Federal Highway around the area of Southwest 12th Street. A deputy with the sheriff’s office was sitting in a marked SUV when another vehicle traveling in the area forcefully struck their vehicle from behind. This caused extensive damages to both vehicles.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The deputy and the driver of the other vehicle, who has not yet been formally identified, were taken to a local hospital with injuries. They are expected to fully recover.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time.
