Deerfield Beach, FL (July 17, 2021) – Officers have released further details after a serious pedestrian crash on July 10 and say that the victim involved has since died of his injuries.
According to deputies with the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened on Hillsboro Boulevard approaching Northwest First Terrace. Around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, a man was attempting to cross the street at the intersection when the driver of a gray Nissan pickup truck struck him.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help. When they checked on the injured man, they discovered he was in serious condition and rushed him to an area hospital. On Thursday, July 14, the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office notified BSO’s Traffic Homicide Unit that the man was pronounced deceased at 7:00 p.m. that evening.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues, and the man's identity has not been released.
