Fort Lauderdale, FL (March 8, 2021) – On Saturday, March 6, a woman was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash involving two vehicles in Fort Lauderdale.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the accident took place at 600 Northwest 31st Avenue when a vehicle struck a pedestrian walking in the area. The vehicle then fled the scene. Before the pedestrian could get up, a second vehicle struck her and fled the scene as well.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The pedestrian, who was identified as 43-year-old Niohsha Drayton, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for some time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
