Margate, FL – Child Injured in Pedestrian Crash at Atlantic Blvd & NW 66th Ave

Margate, FL (January 26, 2022) – A child was struck and injured in a pedestrian crash that took place at an intersection in Margate on Wednesday morning, January 26. 

 

Margate Police confirmed that the accident happened early in the morning at the intersection of Atlantic Boulevard and Northwest 66th Avenue. An 11-year-old child was crossing the street at the intersection when they were suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle traveling through the area. The driver allegedly remained at the scene. 

 

Numerous responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The child was rushed to a local hospital by Margate Fire Rescue. They are expected to recover from their injuries. 

 

Due to the severity of the accident, the intersection was blocked in the area for a period of time. Police did not say if the driver was charged for the accident.
