Miami, FL (January 25, 2022) – A woman was killed and another person was injured in a fatal pedestrian crash in Miami on Tuesday morning, January 25.
According to Miami Police, the accident happened at the intersection of Northwest 57th Avenue and 7th Street. A man and a woman were walking across the street from south to north when they were suddenly struck by a vehicle that was headed east. The black Cadillac was later spotted at the scene with severe front-end damage and a cracked windshield.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The 64-year-old female pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The male pedestrian, who was identified only as a man in his 50s, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Police blocked a portion of the road in the area of the intersection for some time. They also said that drivers are notorious for speeding in these areas. It is not known if the driver was charged for their role in the accident.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
