Miami, FL (October 18, 2021) – At 5:40 a.m. on the morning of Monday, October 18, a fatal pedestrian crash occurred at an intersection in Miami.
According to police, the accident happened at the intersection of Quail Roost Drive and Southwest 117th Avenue. An elderly man was walking in the area when he was suddenly struck by a woman driving a silver Hyundai SUV. The woman continued driving the badly damaged vehicle to a gas station but then returned to the scene of the crash.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The victim was severely injured and pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody else was hurt in the accident.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the intersection was blocked for some time. Police did not say if the driver of the Hyundai would be receiving charges.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
