Pompano Beach, FL (June 28, 2021) – Around 6:15 a.m. on Monday morning, June 28, a truck rollover crash occurred in Pompano Beach.
According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened on I-95 around the area of Copans Road. The accident happened when a passenger vehicle was driving in the northbound lanes when they lost control of their vehicle, slamming into the side of a tanker truck. This caused the truck to also lost control, rolling over and spilling out 9,000 gallons of fuel. While the truck rolled, it caused a light pole to fall over, which set off a three-vehicle crash in the area.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The driver who caused the initial collision, as well as the tanker, were both injured but are expected to be okay.
The drivers of the three other involved vehicles were injured as well. The parties are expected to recover from their injuries.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time.
