Sunny Isles Beach, FL (October 16, 2021) – At 10:50 p.m. on Friday night, October 15, a man was killed in a pedestrian accident on a bridge in Sunny Isles Beach.
According to police, the accident happened on the 163rd Street bridge. A man was having issues with his vehicle and pulled over, getting out so that he could take a look at the engine. A vehicle traveling in the area struck the pedestrian, sending him over the bridge. He fell into the water below.
Paramedics and numerous rescue crews were called to the scene as they looked for the pedestrian. A helicopter was seen circling the area and a flashlight was shone into the water. Crews eventually located the pedestrian. He was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene. Their vehicle had to be towed from the scene due to extensive damages.
